FATS Media Lab. offers a comprehensive range of film digitisation facilities to complement our broadcast duplication, multimedia and archiving services. The restoration and transfer of precious film footage to digital files for preservation purposes is invaluable as film stock deteriorates over time.
Degraded film is restored and cleaned, with all damaged splices repaired, and the film repacked to run smoothly through the transfer process.
At FATS Media Lab. we transfer Standard 8mm, Super 8, 16mm, Super 16 and 35mm to a range of different file types to suit your needs, from computer friendly MP4 files to Prores Quicktime’s and uncompressed DPX sequences for editing and grading. We also output to DVD and Blu-ray.
All machines are capstan driven archival quality producing progressive scans up to 4K resolution, with audio options to capture both Optical and Magnetic audio. The team are experienced at handling all film formats from negatives to the final print master.
Once transferred we also offer editing, grading and creation of all other deliverables you may require.
As with our other media digitisation services we can supply your files on Hard Drive, USB, Disc or as an electronic file transfer. We also have a MAM (Media Asset Management) platform for easy access and management of larger libraries.
